About me
I am an avid lifelong learner who gets bored easily and wants to learn infinitely. I spent 9 years as a 7th grade Advanced English Teacher at ODS, implementing a myriad of gifted instructional strategies before taking my gifted expertise to elementary as a GRT. Some of the gifted strategies I am passionate about are: Kaplan; Hexagonal thinking; Question formulation technique; Socratic seminar; Sternberg; Problem-based learning; Simulations; Call to actions (action/service learning); CER; Conceptual learning. I have an M.Ed in Humane Education from the Institute for Humane Education at Antioch University and B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University. In my free time, I spend time traveling, being outdoors with my husband, toddler son and infant daughter (my joys), pets, and friends, or advocating for people, our environment, and animals. I also indulge in a good TV binge on occasion.
