Grades 2 - 5: Beginner friendly! Learn how to use small teaching computers called Micro:Bits (most schools have a class set) and 100s of ready-to-go projects on the user friendly Microsoft Make Code platform. We will break down the vocabulary of the CS Algorithms and Programming strand and apply it to a pseudocode (planning document) before building the code and downloading it to the Micro:Bit. Give your Micro:Bit the coded input and watch it come to life! Participants will leave with several turnkey Micro:Bit lessons for grade levels 2-5 created by the presenter.

Participants will get a first hand look at games students have coding for topics like Jamestown, food chains, and more! We will review the basics of block coding and explore how students of various levels can engage in this platform. Participants will get the chance to create their own themed games and will learn how to download the game onto a gaming console using micro:bit.
