SUMMARY:From Chaos to Calm: Supporting Young Learners Through Big Feelings
DESCRIPTION:Pre-K classrooms are full of energy\, curiosity\, and\, sometimes\, big emotions. Behaviors that challenge us are often a child’s way of communicating needs they can’t yet express with words. In this session\, we’ll explore practical\, developmentally appropriate strategies to support young learners through their big feelings. Participants will gain tools to recognize the “why” behind behaviors\, respond with empathy and consistency\, and create calm\, supportive learning environments. Together\, we’ll shift the focus from managing behavior to building relationships\, resilience\, and regulation skills that set children up for long-term success.

SUMMARY:Future Ready\, Human First: Intentional Design for Level 1 AI-Enhanced Learning
DESCRIPTION:Is AI a shortcut or a scaffold? The difference lies in when and how it is introduced to the student. In this 40-minute session\, educators will develop foundational skills for designing Level 1 AI-Assisted Assignments—tasks specifically engineered for low-cognitive-load activities like brainstorming\, feedback\, and revision.\n Participants will explore the "Human-First" workflow\, ensuring students engage in independent thinking and drafting before turning to AI as a thought partner. Participants will be provided with prompt engineering templates that incorporate grade-level rigor\, scaffolding for first-time AI users\, and classroom norms. Participants will also tackle the essential logistics of AI integration: standardizing AI usage disclosure\, creating custom Gems for repetitive tasks\, providing "Opposition" pathways for students who opt out\, and choosing the right platform (Gemini\, SchoolAI\, etc.) for the task at hand.
